HOW TO PREP YOUR MAGNUM OPUS ENTRIES
Use the checklists below (or download a PDF here) to prepare your entries so that each judge has all the necessary information.
For all entries
- Prepare three (3) copies of the completed Entry Form for EACH entry. Type or print legibly. Both photocopies and printouts are acceptable. A PDF of the Entry Form is available here.
- Submit three (3) identical samples/tearsheets/CDs for each entry. Attach an entry form to the back of EACH sample/tearsheet, facing out. Tape or staple. Do not use glue or rubber bands.
- If your summary of the audience and goals of the publication is on a separate sheet of paper, prepare three (3) copies of the summary. Attach each sheet BEHIND each entry form, also facing out.
In addition to the above, note the following requirements for specific types of entries:
For all electronic publications and blogs
- Print the publication or blog URL on each entry form.
- Submit a PDF or software file on three (3) identical CDs containing all pages of the product necessary for evaluation of the entry. (For instance, Best Landing Page requires only one page, but Best Navigation cannot be evaluated without evidence of the navigation.)
- Alternatively, submit three (3) identical printouts of all necessary pages. Staple the pages of each printout together, then staple or tape each entry form to the back of each printout, facing out.
NOTE: If your publication is a software file (e.g., MS PowerPoint, MS Word, etc.), it must be readable in standard Mac or Windows software and sent on CD. Please indicate the name of the software used and whether it was created on a Mac or PC platform.
- For all blog submissions except Best Blog Entry, submit eight (8) consecutive blog entries on three (3) identical CDs.
For all podcasts and videos
- Print any applicable URL on each entry form.
- Submit the standard audio or video file(s) on three (3) identical CDs.
- For all podcast submissions except Best Podcast Episode, submit either the entire series OR eight (8) consecutive podcast episodes on three (3) identical CDs.
For Most Improved Editorial and Most Improved Design
- Submit three (3) samples of the old publication (label as "old") and three (3) samples of the new publication (label as "new").
For Best Marketing or Strategic Use of Publication/Product
- Submit three (3) copies of a summary of no more than 500 words that explains why the entry qualifies for an award in the designated category.
For Grand Video Series
- Submit either the entire series OR eight (8) consecutive videos on three (3) identical CDs.
